From the Editors of Your Family Today

Send To A Friend

Making your own trail mix means that picky eaters can enjoy -- without worrying about plucking out the icky bits. This version is chock-full of antioxidants, fiber and even a bit of chocolate from the dried plums. Separate into servings in snack bags so your kids can grab it on the go.

Makes 6 servings (1/2 cup per serving)

Ingredients
1/3 cup natural sliced almonds
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
1/3 cup golden raisins
1/3 cup chopped dates
2/3 cup dark-chocolate-covered dried plums
1 1/2 cups whole-grain O-shaped cereal (or your kids’ favorite cereal)

Directions
1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients.

2. Store in airtight container or bag.
